BHS musical April 4-6: "Come on down to Joey's newstand and coffee shop"

"Extra! Extra" is the title of the spring's Bluffton High School music. Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. in the middle school cafetorium stage. The book, music and lyrics are by Steve Cooper.

Here's a description of the plot:
"Extra! Extra!" Sing all about it in this witty fast-paced musical revue that examines every human foible, failure, fact and fiction that’s fit to print.

C-RHS show choir Cabaret, April 4-5

The Impressions & Stingers of Cory-Rawson High School will present Cabaret 2014 at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, at the Cory-Rawson High School auditorium.

Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students; they are only available at the door. Refreshments will be served at intermission and a silent auction will take place both nights. This event is the major fundraiser for the group.

Dr. Crystal Sellers Battle soloist in Rutter's "Feel the Spirit" at First Presbyterian, Findlay

The First Presbyterian Church, Findlay, will conclude its 34th Artist Series Season with a performance of John Rutter’s Feel the Spirit.  The emotional choral work will be featured during the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, April 6.  First Presbyterian Church is located at 2330 South Main Street, Findlay. 

Feel the Spirit will be performed by the First Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir, under the direction of Dr. Matthew Armstrong and accompanied on the piano by Debra Niswander, Director of Music.  The guest soloist is Dr. Crystal Sellers Battle.

All the pancakes you can eat - Saturday at the Senior Center

The Bluffton Senior Citizens Center and Lion’s Club Foundation are ready to serve you all the pancakes you can eat.

The 32nd annual pancake and sausage benefit is Saturday, March 29, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 132 N. Main St.

The meal includes all the pancakes you can eat, whole hog sausage, applesauce, and coffee, tea, milk or juice. Tickets are $6.50 and children through 5 years of age are free with a paying adult.

Judy Clemens speaker at Friends of the Library tea

The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library will be hosting their annual Spring Tea at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, at the library.

 

The speaker will be Judy Clemens, author of the Stella Crown and Grim Reaper mystery series and the book Lost Sons. 

Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are $12 and are available at the library.

Vintage jazz at April 4 Town Hall Concert Series

Morgen Stiegler and her band will perform a concert of vintage swing and jazz at the next Town Hall Concert, at 8 p.m., Friday, April 4, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick. The public is invited and will be asked to make a donation for the musicians.

Northwest Ohio has become familiar with Stiegler through her appearance on Portraits in Swing as well as live performances on PBS.
