The Inn at ONU presents March 21 afternoon tea

The Inn at ONU presents a "Celebration of Spring" Afternoon Tea fom 3:30 to 5 p.m., Thursday, March 21. Persons attending will enjoy a selection of teas and an array of spring treats and live music. It's the perfect way to celebrate spring with friends or family - or even hold an office meeting.

Tea reservations are $10.95 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Reservations and payment must be made in advance. Please call 419.772.2500. Space is limited.

Boy Scout non-perishable food drive collection Sunday

Bluffton Boy Scouts are scouting for food on Sunday and you can help.

Bluffton Boy Scout Troop 256 members have placed yellow bags on the doorsteps of the residents of Bluffton for non-perishable canned food donations for the Bluffton Food Pantry, according to Darrell Groman, assistant scoutmaster.

The Bluffton Scouts will be canvassing Bluffton on Sunday afternoon, March 17. Please place the yellow bag on the front porch by noon, so that it is easily seen from the street.

Author Vanessa Diffenbaugh featured speaker for 11th CommunityREAD

Author Vanessa Diffenbaugh will speak at Winebrenner Auditorium in Findlay on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m.  Tickets are available at the library’s check-out desk for $5 and at the door the evening of the presentation.

Her appearance is the feature event for the eleventh annual CommunityREAD.

CommunityREAD is a month-long community event that encourages reading and promotes the benefits of literacy.  Originally created by the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, the administration of CommunityREAD was assumed by the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library in 2012.

Red Cross blood drive scheduled in Jenera

Trinity Lutheran School will host a blood drive for the Red Cross on Saturday, March 23, from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the school gym.  The school is located at 105 Allen Street, Jenera.

To schedule a time to give blood,please call Karen Bower at 419-326-8311. 

Walk-ins are also welcome. 

In most cases someone can still give blood if he or she is diabetic, has allergies, has a cold with minor symptoms, had a recent flu shot or pneumonia vaccine or takes blood pressure medication.

Bob Dylan tickets on sale today for April BGSU concert

Legendary musician and cultural icon Bob Dylan will perform at the Bowling Green State University Stroh Center on Sunday, April 21, 2013. 

Doors open at 6:30, Los Angeles-based folk-rock band Dawes opens the show at 7:30 p.m., and Dylan takes the stage at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets go on sale today, Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. at the Stroh Center box office and at ticketmaster.com.

General admission tickets are $35 and $45. Student tickets are $25 and available with a student ID at the Stroh Center box office.

What's for supper? Let's go to the Emmanuel UCC fish fry

The Emmanuel United Church of Christ,  8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton, will hold a fish fry in March. The event is from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 8, at the church.

Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for youth 11 and under. The fish fry offers all the fish you can eat, plus potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert.
