Earlier this month we posted a photo of the famous 1944 Triplett men's softball team. We've now uncovered the 1945 team, with many of the same players. After seven games this team was undefeated, according to the report in the Triplett employee newsletter.

Just when we think we've seen every classic old photo of Bluffton, a new one like this appears.

It's from the July 1945 Triplett Electrical Instrument newsletter. The identification of the Triplett employees is on the photo. Sorry, the youth in the picture are not identified, but our guess is that they would be in the late 70s or early 80s today.

Some familiar last names on the team included: Burkholder, Swank, Eikenbary, Ream, Gratz, Deppler, Berkey, Geiger, Luginbuhl, Moser and Basinger. The members are identified in the photo.

Are your grandparents in this photo? The photo is from the decade of the 1940s and is part of the historical photo collection of the Bluffton Public Library.

The scene is from the Triplett Electrical Instrument Co., specifically  the former Readrite Meter Works (later known as Triplett plant 2) building. The building is no longer standing. It is now part of the parking lot north of Harmon Field on East College Avenue.
