This is Stepleton's pool hall, or Sam's Lunch, on North Main Street, Bluffton. On the left is Denver "Demps" Augsburger. On the right is Sam Stepleton, proprietor.

The photo was taken Sept. 10, 1940. Denver Augsburger eventually was a parter in the business as it was known later as Charlie and Demps and later, Demps and Stoney. It eventually became Stoney's and was located near the location of Luke's Bar and Grill.

Note the token, inserted on the bottom left, for Sam's Lunch, Bluffton, Ohio. This token was spotted recently on e-Bay.
