Pandora celebrates two-day Riley Creek Festival Aug. 12-13

AUCTION 3 P.M. SATURDAY

Pandora's Riley Creek Festival is Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12-13. Events on Friday include a car show, outdoor movie, food and carnival games.

Saturday's events include a 10 a.m. parade, breakfast and lunch, chicken barbecue, health fair, performers, punt, pass and kick contest for youth, a 3 p.m. auction an activities for children.

New Bobcat 52-inch zero-turn mower part of Pandora's Aug. 13 community auction

A new Bobcat 52-inch zero turn mower (donated by Gary's Repair), is among items on the auction block Saturday in Pandora.

The auction is part of Pandora's Riley Creek Festival. The auction takes place at 3 p.m. in the Health Care Tent in the Pandora Park.

Many items, donated by Pandora area businesses, are also part of the auction.

Todd and Don Basinger are the auctioneers. All proceeds from the auction benefit the Riley Creek Festival.

Village of Pandora's share of St. John annexation estimated at $145,648

St. John Mennonite Church annexation project into the Village of Pandora will cost the village (including engineering fees) is estimated to be $145,648.50. That estimate was announced at the recent Pandora council meeting on July 12.

Pandora council looking at annexing land

The Pandora Village Council met in Regular Session on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 7:00 PM with Mayor, John Schlumbohm, presiding.

Members Present: Painter, Fricke, Hall, Stall, BlankMembers Absent: Vance

The meeting was opened with Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion was made by Mr. Painter, seconded by Mr. Hall to approve the June 14, 2011 Minutes. Voting: All Yea.

Bills: $72,721

Payroll: $12,781

Motion was made by Mr. Fricke, seconded by Mr. Hall to approve the bills as presented. Voting: All Yea.

Pandora council awards $54,370 street work contract

Pandora council awarded a contract to Ward Construction for the purpose of street work in the village and for manhole and value repairs. Ward's bid of $54,370 for the project was the only bid received, according to Lana Burry, village fiscal officer.
