Kruse donates her locks once again...for the 6th time.

Kasey Kruse, 18, of Columbus Grove donated ten inches of her hair to Locks of Love for the sixth time recently. She has been able to give this gift approximately every 1 1/2 to 2 years. Kasey is the daughter of Ken and Connie Kruse, of Town and Country Flowers, Bluffton. 

Kasey is a senior at  Columbus Grove High School. She had her hair cut by her Aunt Linda Kruse of Linda's Styling and Tanning Salon, Columbus Grove.

Alzheimer's support group meets third Monday at MMH

The Alzheimer's Support Group at Mennonite Memorial Home meets at 3:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month.

According to Darren Lee of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, Alzheimer's disease is life-changing for both those who are diagnosed and those close to them. The Alzheimer’s Support Group at Mennonite Memorial Home provides a place to connect with other caregivers who truly understand what you are going through. Often we hear caregivers say they are looking for support from people who "really understand because they've been there, too."

Bluffton Boehrs pick Jim Sommer as first draft pick - OK, we're stretching it a bit, but it's still a great story

Blame it on Dick Boehr.

This fall he started cleaning out more than a half century of Bluffton collectibles from his Vine Street office.

When he came to the box with Bluffton Boehr’s basketball jersey number 55, he couldn’t resist.

He sent it to the only player who ever wore the jersey, Jim Sommer, a Bluffton University athletic hall of famer.

Here's a quick reminder of where all those NFL footballs come from...it's Ada, Ohio

It's down to four teams: Green Bay, New England, Seattle and Indianapolis.

But no matter who makes the trip to the Super Bowl, Ada will in on every play. Wilson Football recently created a brief video of the Ada Wilson factory.

5th grade quiz bowl's first match Jan. 26

The Bluffton fifth grade quiz bowl season begins this month. The first match is Monday, Jan. 26, at Shawnee Middle School

Bluffton team members are: Justin Bishop, Amber Boop, Nicole Boyle, Jonah Brown, Libbie Frazier, Nathan Kupferer, Caleb McKenzie, Seth Pannabecker, Kiera Rieman, and Jayden Welch. The coach is Christine McCafferty.

The celebrated frog of Bluffton

It's Billy in Billy's Beach. And if you look closely near the top of the photo there's a small cricket on a green plant. Billy lives in the kindergarten room of Bluffton Child Development Center. Two photos below show students watching Billy and a close up of Bluffton's famous frog.
