Two discovered dead south of Bluffton on Monday evening

In residence on Township Road 56, Ada

Two deaths, discovered at about 9 p.m. south of Bluffton on Monday, June 19, are under investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.

One woman and one man were found dead at a 23287 Township Road 56, Ada, residence, just north of U.S. Route 30 between Bluffton and Ada.

Marie R. Beach, 18, formerly of Lima, was identified as the woman. The man has not yet been identified.

Both bodies were taken to Lucas County for autopsies, according to the sheriff’s department, and the deaths are not currently under investigation.

On the morning of April 21, officers with the Bluffton Police Department assisted the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office who were searching for two burglary suspects south of the Village of Pandora near the intersection of Pandora Road and Bixel Road.

Meth lab causes fire in North Main Street Ada residence

Officers arrested an occupant of the apartment

FROM THE ADA ICON - Officials determined that a methamphetamine lab caused the fire that extensively damaged a structure at 409 N. Main St., Ada, on Wednesday afternoon. 

Officers arrested an occupant of the apartment, Karen Troglin, for assembly and/or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs. Other charges may be added in the future since the case remains under investigation.

The fire was investigated by the Hardin County Crime Task Force and Bureau of Criminal Investigation,

  • Officers arrested Roxanne M. Velasquez, 35, Ada, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Commerce Lane and State Route 103. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.

  • A university student reported items were stolen from his dorm room while he was away on break.

Including three arrests for outstanding warrants

  • A Jenera resident reported her vehicle was damaged while at a Commerce Lane business.

March 5

  • Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash in the 600 block of Bentley Road. Larry R. Harper, 62, Johnson City, Tennessee, was issued a citation for improper starting and backing. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

Bluffton man and his cousin die of gunshot wounds

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office has reported that two people, including a Bluffton man and his cousin, died from gunshot wounds on Monday evening, March 21.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said Ashley M. Sayarath, 19, died from two gunshot wounds, according to a press release. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said David Sayarath, 30, of Bluffton, and the cousin of Ashley, apparently shot Ashley at 605 Palm Drive, Liberty Township, before turning the gun on himself and dying.

The investigation is continuing.
