On Tuesday evening the Augsburger Road forest deer herd had supper on the corn stubble of Judy and Larry Diller's field. This scene, taken with a cell phone from Bentley Road is taken from the east. The Icon counted over 80 deer in the field.

Cardiologist joins BVHS HeartCare Center

Dr. Pamela Reed has joined Blanchard Valley Health System’s Jane & Gary Heminger HeartCare Center. Dr. Reed’s specialties include care for coronary artery disease, heart attack treatment, coronary stenting, women’s heart care and cardiovascular evaluation and testing.

Reed received her medical degree from Michigan State University. She completed an internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Annual senior citizens garage sale Feb. 27 and 28

The Bluffton Senior Center will break tradition by holding its annual garage sale a few months earlier than usual. This year the sale will be held from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Fridayk, Feb. 27, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.

Chamber sponsors free real estate workshop on Friday AM

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a free real estate workshop on Friday, Feb. 13, following the chamber monthly breakfast.

The workshop, open to the public, is from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall. CCR RealLiving realtors will lead the session.

Bluffton nurses graduated from ISU school of nursing; now ranked one of best

A local contingent of longtime nurses -- all graduates of the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University -- are cheering the recent ranking of ISU's online nursing program as one of the Best Online Nursing Programs. U.S. News & World Report ranked ISU's online program as 93rd on their list and the only public institution in illinois to be ranked.
