Plans are in the works to restore Bluffton's wooden "floating" swimming pool for public swimming, according to a group interested in the project. The photo accompanying this story shows the pool prior to its original launch in the Buckeye.

First National Bank receives Bauer's 5-Star "Superior" rating

First National Bank of Pandora announced that it has once again been awarded a 5-Star ("Superior") Rating from Bauer Financial, Inc., an independent bank rating company.

Bauer's 5-Star Rating, its highest performance ranking, represents an independent, unbiased analysis of a financial institution's safety and soundness position.

Bauer has been analyzing and reporting the financial condition of the nation's banking industry since 1983.

Rain gardens topic of April 10 Gardeners of Bluffton-Pandora meeting

The Gardeners of the Bluffton/Pandora Area will host a public lecture on rain gardens from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, in the lower level meeting room of the Bluffton Public Library.

Tim Brugeman, president of the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership, is the speaker.

Stamp recognizes centennial of cherry blossoms in D.C.

The newest postage stamp available in the Bluffton post office honors the Cherry Blossom Centennial. The stamp was issued March 24.

In 1912 Japan gave 3,000 cherry trees to the United States, which were planted round the Tidal Basin in the nation's capital.
