Let there be pumpkins!

Yes, there are pumpkins at the Bluffton Farmers' Market. You'll find them in several sizes, varieties and shapes. You'll also find gourds and other fall-related items. The market is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Citizens National Bank parking lot on Saturday.

Chamber host to 3-way mayoral candidate forum Oct. 28

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Bluffton mayoral candidate forum at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall. The forum is open to the public.

Three candidates seek the mayor’s office in the Tuesday, Nov. 3, general election. The winner’s term begins Jan. 1, 2016. Candidates are Judy Augsburger, Jerry Cupples and David Steiner.

Augsburger, current mayor, was appointed to that spot in June 2014 following the resignation of then-mayor Dennis Gallant, who moved from Bluffton. She is running as an independent.

Matthew Sapienza 1985-2015

Matthew Dominic Sapienza, 29, died Oct. 6, 2015, in Findlay. Matt was born December 7, 1985 in Findlay. 

After graduating from Findlay High school, Matt worked at the Bistro in Findlay where he developed his love for cooking.  He was established chef for his family and home.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Beavers came out swatting against the visiting Yellow Jackets of Defiance in the “Battle for Purple Supremacy” rivalry match! With an attendance of 500 the Sommer Center was a great atmosphere to play in on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Men's soccer drops 2-0 decision to Anderson

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team stayed with Anderson throughout most of the first half on a warm and sunny Wednesday, Oct. 7. The Ravens cracked the scoreboard late in the first half and again early in period two en route to the 2-0 shutout at the Sears Complex. The loss dropped the Beavers to 0-10 overall and 0-2 HCAC, while the Ravens improved to 2-7-2 and 1-1 HCAC.

BHS grad Mike Liska on Bluffton University homecoming court

Members of the Bluffton University Homecoming court took time on Oct. 6 to serve at Bluffton’s Et Cetera Shop, sorting clothes at the thrift store for part of the evening.
