Gable-Sprague win in Lima for BHS

The BHS girls' tennis team placed fifth at the Lima City Invitationals last Saturday, behind four Western Buckeye League teams.

Ashlin Gable and Emily Sprague combined to win the A flight doubles, taking three matches in straight sets. Jess Hunter won one match before losing in the semifinals, while Kristi Geiser and Liz Diller won their first match and were eliminated in the semifinals.

The netters are at Bath Tuesday and host Wapakoneta, the Lima champions, Wednesday at Harmon Field courts.

The Lady Pirates girls' soccer team come out strong in their season against the Ada Bulldogs Monday evening at Steinmetz Field.

Megan Dulle set the pace with a goal assisted by Jill Steinmetz just six minutes into the game. Steinmetz added a goal a short four miutes later.

The Pirates were pumped and never looked back. The goals kept coming. Katie Palte and Kelly McCarthy also made their contrabutions with assists by Steinmetz and Rachel Yoder.

After a strong first showing at the Upper Sandusky Icebreaker Invitational meet last Tuesday, the Bluffton High School Cross Country teams didn't disappoint.

The Saturday meet began with the girls' race. It was a perfect day to run: 65 degrees and sunny. At 9:00, 117girls from the area crowded onto the Delphos football field and leaned over the line, waiting for the gun to sound.

BHS girls' tennis team wins second straight

Bluffton High School's girls tennis team won its second straight match Wednesday afternoon by edging Tiffin Calvert 3-2 in Tiffin. Emily Sprague won in straight sets at No. 1 singles and both doubles units won in straight sets.

The No. 1 doubles team of Ashlin Gable and Kristi Geiser shut out their opponents, 6-0, 6-0, while Liz Diller and Shaye Liddick won 6-0, 6-3. Shannon Koch and Jess Hunter lost close matches at the other singles slots. The girls compete in the Lima Invitational Saturday.
