Beaver softball recap April 2

KALAMAZOO, Mich.--The Bluffton University softball team capped its week in Michigan off with a pair of setbacks at the hands of Kalamazoo College on a cold Sunday, April 2, 2023. The Hornets improved to 10-8 on the season, while Bluffton fell to 10-10 following the non-conference sweep.

Men's Golf
The Bluffton University men's golf team tied for 3rd place at the Bluffton Spring Invite on Sunday, April 2. With the blustery winds and hail from Saturday in the rearview mirror, the Beavers showed out with a 300 on Sunday. The 12-over par established a new school mark for 18 holes.

Pirates home opener vs. Arcadia is 5 p.m. on April 4

CAREY–Bluffton High School lost to Carey 10-0 in a non-league softball bout Friday evening, March 31.

The Pirates dropped to 2-1 after suffering their first loss.

The Bluffton High School boys track and field team won a three-team meet at the Bluffton University facility on Tuesday, March 28. Bath and Ben Logan also competed in the event.

Several Pirates posted first-place finishes at the meet (complete Bluffton results HERE.):

Senior Sam Derstine crossed the line first in the boys 800 meters (2:02.4). Classmate Eden Antrim came home first in the 1600 (4:51.2).

Pirate baseball takes losses at Carey and Liberty Benton

The Bluffton High School boys baseball team lost 7-5 at Carey Friday. The Pirates then fell 11-1 at unbeaten Liberty-Benton (4-0) Saturday.

The Pirate boys host Arcadia (0-1) Tuesday evening.

Pirate tennis falls to Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG–The Bluffton boys tennis team lost 4-1 at Perrysburg Thursday evening. The Pirates drop to 1-2 with the loss at the non-league foe.
