Community pool painting, pool opening delayed by wet weather

The start of the 2024 season at the Bluffton Community Pool at 205 Snyder Rd will be delayed. Wet weather has postponed painting and filling of the pool. If weather permits, the pool will be filled over Memorial Day weekend. Stay tuned for further details or visit the pool Facebook page for updates.

The Bluffton Icon has a holiday schedule for Memorial Day weekend 2024. New content will appear on Friday and, except for breaking news, pause until Tuesday morning.

Two students will graduate from Trinity Lutheran School, Jenera, on Sunday, May 26, 2024. The graduation will be part of the 10:30 a.m. service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera.

A tradition which dates back more than 150 years continues to bring veterans and families together in Bluffton. The tradition: decorating the graves of America’s war veterans, now known as Memorial Day.

Krendl shares top NWC baseball coach honors; Jebsen 1st team

In voting recently conducted by league coaches, Pirate mentor Kasey Krendl shares NWC Coach of the Year honors with Lincolnview’s Eric Fishpaw for the 2023-2023 school year.

Bluffton junior left fielder Luke Jebsen was named first team All-Northwest Conference. Jebsen sparked the Pirate offense from his leadoff spot.

Pirate junior third baseman Evan Speicher was tabbed second team All-NWC.

Senior catcher Kerry Wright and junior center fielder Landen Worcester earned honorable mention notice.

Bluffton finished 11-11 overall and 5-3 in the NWC to come in a solid fourth place in the nine-team league.
