Jed Marquart wraps up 33 years of teaching at his alma mater

The Ohio Northern University T.J. Smull College of Engineering recently celebrated the career of Dr. Jed Marquart, BSME ’80, ahead of his upcoming retirement after more than 30 years of service to the university.

A native of Bluffton, Ohio, he has had a lifelong affinity for Northwest Ohio. After graduating from ONU, he worked in the engineering workforce and obtained graduate degrees from the University of Dayton. In 1991, he returned home and spent the next 33 years teaching at his beloved alma mater.

Bluffton Soccer Club will hold tryouts for girls and boys entering Grades 2-8 at Citizen National Bank fields (Bluffton Family YMCA if inclement weather).

Summer day camps offered at Bluffton Family YMCA

The Bluffton Family YMCA is gearing up for summer day camps from June 3 - August 23, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. There will also be options for Before Care from 7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. and After Care from 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

BLUFFTON __ The visiting Lincolnview baseball team nipped Bluffton High School 3-2 in a Northwest Conference pitcher’s duel Thursday night, April 25.

Tree Commission celebration April 27 at Bluffton Community Pool

The Village of Bluffton Tree Commission will plant several trees at the Bluffton Community Pool, 201 Snider Rd., in a public Arbor Day celebration at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27. 

72nd Annual Spring Show at ArtSpace 

The 72nd annual juried Spring Show art exhibit will open on Saturday, May 4 at ArtSpace, 65-67 Town Square, Lima. The exhibit features all mediums and introduces new artists to the public, in addition to featuring well-known artists from the region. 

The exhibit was juried by Steve Smith, an internationally recognized artist.

The opening will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Music will be provided by Alison Hedges, harpist.

The exhibit will remain on display from May 4-June 22. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.
