100+ bikers in mass start

The inaugural Ride to Remember bicycle ride attracted over 100 bicyclists to Bluffton on July 11. Here is a photo of the mass start at 8 a.m. The ride started at Bluffton Family Recreation and offered several long-distance routes for bikers. Click here for a video of the mass start.

Get ready for Spectrum Salon cash mob July 16

The July Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce cash mob features three area businesses.

Spectrum Salon, 442 N. Main St., hosts the cash mob from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, according to Mandy Kinn of the salon.

She said that several Joico hair care products will be 40 percent off and selected other products will be listed at $5 each during cash mob hours.

“In conjunction with our specials and a drawing for a gift card, two other businesses will be showcasing what they have to offer,” she said.

Stan Schneck's mark on Pandora will remain for a long, long time

We all know Stan Schneck was “Mr. Pandora.”

There’s more to that title than you might think. Stan's older brother, Don, passed the title on  to Stan, and Stan carried it well.

Don and Stan’s father, Clarence, then might as well be considered the Father of two Mr. Pandora’s. In an earlier generation, Clarence was an important heartbeat of the Pandora community.

Stan was about as Swiss as you could get – having a Schneck father and a Burkhalter mother and holding a life-long St. John Mennonite membership.

Paint and sip Thursday night
