Boys' soccer: Bluffton beats Ada in NWC showdown

The loss snapped Ada's seven-match win streak

ADA - Visiting Bluffton blanked Ada 3-0 in a battle between Northwest Conference boys soccer co-leaders Tuesday evening at the park pitch.

The loss snapped Ada's seven-match win streak and dropped their record to 7-3-1 overall and 3-1 in the NWC. Bluffton improved to 10-1-1 and 4-0 in the NWC with their 24th consecutive league win.

The game was scoreless through a defensive first half.

Kaden Basil finally broke the ice on a goal five minutes into the second half to give Bluffton a 1-0 lead.

Our Version of Adult Learning kicks in this week

It's Our Version of Adult Learning (OVAL) season at the Bluffton Senior Center, according to Tonya Meyer of the Center.

Third edition of Explore Bluffton visitors' guide in the works

Chamber accepting ads until Oct. 15

A new 50-page Explore Bluffton visitor guide is underway with an ad sales deadline of Tuesday, Oct. 15, according to Paula Scott, Bluffton chamber CEO.

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members receive a free expanded listing and the opportunity to purchase quarter, half, and full page ads.

This is the third edition of the booklet, which will have a print run of 10,000 copies and be distributed over three years.

415 Boutique announces Fall Festival sale

Boutique 415 has a Fall Festival sale planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Joan Frederick said to check out the shop's $10 and under sales rack. And, earn Boutique Bucks with every purchase. The Bucks will be redeemable through Oct. 21.

The shop is located at 415 N. Main St., Bluffton.

Curb your enthusiasm

Okay, enough with the puns. Here's the curb in place on Jefferson Street as that major project continues. In the next photo, watch out for the largest cat we've seen on Main Street in several seasons. It's apparently a street cat, not an alley cat.

HealthWise mobile clinic at library Friday morning

Bluffton Public Library hosts the ONU Healthwise Mobile Health Clinic from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27.

The clinic offers free screenings for blood pressure, osteoporosis, and blood sugar and cholesterol, but note, you must fast from 12 hours to do blood sugar and cholesterol screenings.

The mobile clinic bus will be parked outside the library on Main Street.
