Jim Boedicker will play one more time on Saturday

Three more Bluffton Saturday farmers' markets and then good bye for the season.

Jim Boedicker, popular musican at the market, will perform on Saturday, Oct. 17. The market is open in the Citizens National Bank parking lot from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Elinor Laing 1941-2015

Elinor M. Laing, 74, died 9 p.m. Oct. 14, 2015, at Shawnee Manor, Lima. Elinor was born Jan. 3, 1941 in Dola to Lloyd and Mary Neil Kindle. On July 3, 1959, she married Edward Laing and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1985. 

Elinor worked at several area restaurants. She was a graduate of Dola High School.

BFR holds "non-scary" Halloween party for tikes on Oct. 30

Bluffton Family Recreation will hold a Halloween party on Friday, Oct. 30, during its open play time, according to Joseph Beagle, director.

The party takes place from 11 a.m. to noon on the 30th. It is free to members and $1 per child for non-members.

“We’ll have games, candy and costume judging,” he said. Judging takes place at 11:40 a.m. BFR asks that no scary costumes be entered. Masks will be worn only during judging.

Ada sponsoring "pink out" during Friday's football game with Pirates

Bluffton football fans may not see purple and gold in Ada on Friday.

In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, Ada schools will sponsor a  "pink out" at Friday's football game against Bluffton.

The Ada crowd is encouraged to wear pink on Friday to school and to the varsity football game.

Blaze committee reminds groups to enter Nov. 28 parade

This year’s Blaze of Lights is fast approaching.

But, there’s still time to enter a float or parade unit in the parade that is one of the highlights of the event. This year’s Blaze, sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce takes place on Saturday, Nov. 28, in downtown Bluffton.

This year’s Blaze theme is “A Christmas from the Past.”

Earlier this month over 40 units were already registered for the parade, according to Junior Weihrauch, parade director.

Volleyball spikes Anderson for 11th straight win

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Tonight’s Heartland Conference match brought Anderson University to the Sommer Center for a mid- week battle. The Beavers came into the evening 4-0 in the conference, while the Ravens were 0-4. Bluffton's 3-0 sweep helped the Beavers improve to 14-6 overall and 5-0 in the HCAC following their 11th consecutive victory!
