Good Friday procession returns

After a one-year absence, the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association's procession of the cross returned as a local tradition. University program aligns with human resource association

Students enrolled in Bluffton’s degree-completion program are able to apply for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam

Bluffton University’s degree-completion program in business is now aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.

Students enrolled in Bluffton’s degree-completion program are able to apply for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam.

Eligible students must be in their final year of study in an aligned HR degree program and must have a minimum of 500 hours of relevant experience to apply. 

Vaccine clinic at Bluffton Hospital for 18 and older

Moderna given April 8 • Call 419-369-2323 for appointment

Bluffton Hospital, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, will offer another vaccination clinic for the community.

In this phase, individuals who are 18 years of age and older will be able to receive the Moderna vaccine. The clinic will be held on Thursday, April 8 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

To register, call 419.369.2323 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are a limited number of vaccines available, therefore vaccines will be given on a first call, first-served basis. A caregiver or loved one may make an appointment on behalf of a patient.

Roger Bixel was a former Bluffton College football coach

Roger L. Bixel, 86, died at 5:55 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Heritage Healthcare in Minster. He was born March 3, 1935, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Harold and Wava (Amstutz) Bixel. On July 26, 1959, he married Shirley M. Glaze, who survives in Lima.

Roger graduated from LaFayette Jackson High School in 1953, where he was active in athletics and music. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bluffton College in 1958. He earned his Master of Education degree in 1970 from Bowling Green State University.

We live in an age of information, but unfortunately, we also live in an era of misinformation. 

 Fake news spreads like wildfire. Fake news is information that is false or completely misleading that is presented as news. Fake news travels about 6 times faster than regular news on social media. This is extremely concerning.
