Bluffton Tree City, Arbor Day event April 26

On April 9 at the annual Tree City USA awards ceremony, Bluffton was recognized for its 21 years as a national Tree City community.

In 1872 the state of Nebraska adopted a day each year for the planting of trees. Now a worldwide event, this day is known as Arbor Day. 

Bluffton Tree Commission members continue to celebrate this day with the planting of Bluffton's 22nd Arbor Day tree. The public is invited to attend at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26th, at Steinmetz Soccer Field, in the concession stand area.

Krysti's Music Studio students showcase art work April 26

The art students of Krysti’s Music Studio will be showcasing their recent artwork on Saturday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Bluffton Campus Life room, 111 W. College Ave.

Students who will be featured are Danielle Novak, Brooklyn West, and Kaylah Gilmore.  Community members are invited to attend and may come and go as they like, to view the artwork and chat with the artists. The students' art teacher is Tori Watkins. If you have questions, please call Krysti at 419-233-5255.

Artspace/Lima opens 59th annual Spring Show on April 25

The ArtSpace/Lima Spring Show 2014 will open Friday, April 25, with a public reception for the artists and their friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Ellen Nelson Gallery.

BFR announces lots of April-May programs

Friday All Sports Class to start April 25 at BFR. Youth in grades K-5 are welcome to participate in a new BFR informal sports program on Fridays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Each week, youth will participate in a different sport: basketball, wiffleball, dodgeball, and kickball. A minimum of 8 youth need to register for the program which will start April 25 and end May 16; cost for the 4 sessions is $12 or free for BFR members. Call BFR Sports & Fitness at 419-358-4150 to register. Van service from Bluffton schools is available for a nominal fee.

Ebenezer Mennonite children's choir musical April 27

Ebenezer Mennonite Church children’s choir, Disciple Singers, will present a musical called “I Can Only Imagine” on Sunday, April 27, at 7 p.m., in the Crossroads Ministry Center. 

An afterglow will be held following the musical. The church is located at 8905 Columbus Grove Road, Bluffton. 

It is free and open to the public.
