Team Luvu A Latte and Team Rains

On May 1, the family and employees of Lisa Rains, owner of Luvu A Latte drive through coffee shop celebrated its opening with the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. The shop is located off of SR 103 east of i-75. Tumbling classes return to Bluffton Family YMCA in June

Bluffton Family YMCA will offer tumbling instruction this summer. On Mondays, June 3-June 24, the Y will offer:

  • Lil Tumblers (3-5 years) 4:30-5:00 p.m.
  • Tumblers 1 (5-7 years) 5-5:30 p.m.
  • Tumblers 2 (8-10 years) 5:30-6:15 p.m.

Bluffton classes will be held at 215 Snider Rd.

Bluffton University graduates celebrate growth

First Master of Nutrition in Dietetics class

Four years ago, the graduating baccalaureate class of 2024 began their journey at Bluffton University in the midst of a pandemic. Saturday morning, May 4, their journey was celebrated as 147 bachelor’s and master’s degrees were conferred.

Commencement speaker Glen Guyton, Mennonite Church USA executive director, encouraged graduates to celebrate how far they have come before stressing about the future. Graduates were encouraged to say out loud, with fists raised, “I succeeded.” “You are a thousand times better than you were,” Guyton stressed. “Success is about growth.”

Guyton offered some secrets to success to the graduates. “Look back to see where you come from, don’t chase the idea of would have-should of–could of and, celebrate yourself,” he said. “My hope is that you do not pursue happiness – but be happy. That you do not chase dreams – but dream.”

Traffic was light but supersized on an early May evening in Bluffton. But what is it? A big and big ticket chemical applicator for crops.

May 7 Tornado Watch until 11:00 PM

A Tornado Watch has been issued for an area including Bluffton by the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana Office. This watch is in effect until 11 PM EDT on May 7. Severe storms are likely late this evening. The primary threats are large hail and tornadoes with isolated damaging winds possible.
