Can you imagine swimming the National from Jefferson Street to Lake?

Viewers provide their own stories about the Buckeye, National and Riley Creek

Several Icon viewers offer their own Buckeye, Riley Creek and National Quarry experiences while growing up. The responses followed the Bluffton Public Library presentation by Fred Steiner titled "You'll never believe what's at the bottom of the Buckeye."

Your waiting is over, Greenhorn opens on Thursday

Indoor and outdoor seating with a mostly vegan menu

Bluffton has a new answer to the question: “Where shall we eat today?”

Greenhorn, 112 Vine St., officially opens Thursday, according to Jonah Agner,  restaurant owner with Bob Bell of Findlay. Agner with Nancy Corle-Agner own The Food Store on Main Street.

“Our dishes have a strong Mediterranean influence,” said Agner. “We’ll also carry seasonal vegetables. The menu is 99% vegan with limited use of dairy products.”

Bluffton Hospital helping BFR

Hospital provides funds for summer camp meal

Bluffton Hospital has donated funds to provide meals to the Bluffton Family Recreation 2020 Summer Kids’ Camp.

The meals will feed children ages 5-12 enrolled in BFR’s program, each week throughout the summer.

“BFR summer camp provides children with the opportunity to experience a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Keeping the children active, it is important to have nutritious meals,” said Daniel Tinch, executive director of Bluffton Family Recreation. 

MHCO sells Friend Court property in Pandora

Pandora Contracting considering building duplex/condominium type community

In early July, the sale of property on Friend Court in Pandora from the Hilty Home to Pandora Contracting was completed. 

A part of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) since 2012, Hilty Home is a senior living community that includes Independent living villas, assisted living apartments, and a skilled nursing facility.

Good place to cool off

It looks like a window of water. It's actually the mushroom at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. This photo series is a tale of two pools. The next photo shows another pool mushroom – at the Ada pool, as kids in both community discover the secret of being cool. (These two photos are on both Icon homepages today.)
