Easter cantata performed at Pandora UCM April 15

The Pandora United Methodist Church Choir will present its Easter cantata, “The Easter Story” on Sunday, April 14, during the  9:30 a.m. worship service, according to Rev. Duane Kemerley, pastor.

The church service and refreshments in the fellowship hall afterwards are open to the public. The choir is directed by Pat Basinger and accompanied by Kira Davis. The church is located on State Route 12  Pandora.

Good Friday Procession of the Cross April 19

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association will host its Good Friday Community Procession of the Cross.

It will begin at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. on Good Friday, April 19. It will be followed by the Good Friday service at noon at the Bluffton Presbyterian Church.

Youth provide March 31 service at Trinity Lutheran

A special youth service will be held to celebrate Unity Sunday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, on Sunday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m.

There will be no service at 8 a.m, but Sunday School and Bible classes will begin as usual at 9:20 a.m. The youth of the church will provide the music, do the readings and explain why the church follows an order of service. 

Following the service, a potluck meal will be held in the school’s multi-purpose room.

Pandora United Methodist community meal Wednesday

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free Community Meal on Wednesday, March 27, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora. 

The meal this month is provided by Sprunger Insurance. The menu is spaghetti dinner, beverage, and dessert.

Pandora United Methodist chicken barbecue March 31

  Pandora United Methodist Church will hold a chicken barbecue - Ted Sigler and Don Diller recipe - from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, March 31, at the church, 108 E. Washington St. (SR 12) in Pandora.

Tickets are $9 per person (dine-in or carry-out) This includes “Val Cake” for dessert. For ticket information, call 419.384.3782.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary choir concert March 25

at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera

The Concert Choir of Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Saginaw, Michigan, will present a concert of sacred songs at Trinity Lutheran Church , 301 N. Main St., Jenera, on Monday, March 25, at 1 p.m.

The 38-voice traveling singers, under the direction of Professor Leonard A. Proeber, have toured annually since 1955, with appearances in more than 30 states, Canada, and Europe.  

This choir, which will sing over 30 concerts during the 2018-2019 season, regularly visits congregations of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod in Michigan and adjoining states.
