Song of Zechariah Dec. 7 Advent theme at Trinity Lutheran

“The Song of Zechariah” is the focus of the Wednesday, Dec. 7,  7 p.m. Advent service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera.  The choir will sing “Praise to the Lord” and the church will be decorated for Christmas. Everyone is welcome as we hear how happy Zechariah was following the birth of his son John, who would go before the Lord to prepare the way for Him.

Ebenezer children's Christmas program Dec. 11

A children's Christmas program, "The Good News Flash" will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Crossroads Ministry Center at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

The program includes children sharing in drama and song about the Christmas story. The church is located at 8905 Columbus Grove-Bluffton Road, Bluffton. 

An afterglow will be held following the program.

Pandora UMC Christmas cantata Dec. 11

Pandora United Methodist Church Choir will presents Christmas cantata, “Shout the Good News!” written by Lloyd Larson on Sunday, Dec. 11, during the 9:30 a.m. worship service, according to Rev. Duane Kemberley, pastor. 

The church service and refreshments in the fellowship hall afterwards are open to the public. The choir is directed by Pat Basinger and accompanied by Pat Michel. The church is at 108 E. Washington Street in Pandora.

Free community meal at Pandora UM Dec. 14

Pandora United Methodist Church will be hold a free community meal on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. The meal this month is provided by Riley Creek Pharmacy/Pharmacy Solutions. The menu is sloppy joe sandwich, hot dogs, cheesy potatoes, veggie tray, fruit, cookies and hot chocolate.

Also, Santa will visit from 6-7 p.m. Every child will get their picture taken with Santa and receive a gift from Santa. First National Bank will have cookies to decorate and crafts for kids!

Riley Creek United Methodist carol sing Dec. 4

Riley Creek United Methodist Church invites the community to its 45th annual Christmas carol sing on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m., at the church, 7102 Putnam County Road M, Ottawa, according to Rev. Duane Kemerley, pastor.

The program features congregational singing of many traditional carols, as well as readings from scripture about Jesus’ birth, special performances by the Pandora United Methodist Church choir, Ottawa Saints Peter and Paul choir, other musicians, and a candle lighting ceremony.

Red Cross blood drive December 15 at First Mennonite

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at First Mennonite Church on  Thursday, Dec. 15 from 1-6 p.m. First Mennonite is located at 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton. Enter by the Jackson Street door. The church is handicapped accessible.
