Whirlpool will create $18 million Findlay Wind Farm

Whirlpool Corporation, the world’s largest global manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances is building on the company’s 40 years of commitment to sustainability by using wind energy to power its manufacturing facility located in Findlay.

February Bluffton University arts calendar on the Icon

February is full of events at Bluffton University. Here's a listing of those programs. Events are free and open to the public unless noted otherwise.

Feb. 2              Art exhibit: Opening of “At the Mercy of the Muse,” sculptures by Dan Chudzinski, Grace Albrecht Gallery, Sauder Visual Arts Center. Hours through March 1 are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8.

Edelweiss News - Gardeners of Bluffton-Pandora Area - newsletter on the Icon

The "Edelweiss News," newsletter of the Gardeners of the Bluffton-Pandora Area is now on the Icon. The club is open to all persons in the Icon viewer area interested in gardening.

The club's next meeting is at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, in the Bluffton Public Library.

Bluffton American Legion commemorates Four Chaplains Sunday at First United Methodist

In commemoration of the sacrifice of four armed forces Chaplains during World War II, The American Legion will observe Religious Emphasis Week, Feb. 1 to Feb. 7, according to Don Rock, chaplain of Bluffton Post 382.

The Bluffton American Legion members will attend the 10:30 a.m. service at First United Methodist  Church, Sunday, Feb. 1. All veterans and their spouses are welcome to attend.

Isaac Little has second highest GPA on Cincinnati football team

Isaac Little, freshman outside liinebacker on the University of Cincinnati's football team, achieved the second highest GPA on the football team this fall.

Little, a Bluffton High School grad and standouting Pirate athlete, achieved a 3.938 grade point average.
