Women's bball: Brooke Ruffer posts 11th career double double in loss

An 18-point first half deficit was too much to overcome as the Bluffton University women had their two-game winning streak snapped at Hanover College on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014. The Panthers improved to 11-8 overall and 9-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Bluffton dropped to 11-8 and 7-5 in the HCAC.

Paulding wins NWC wrestling title

In winning their second consecutive championship, Paulding scored a total of 302 points to take the 2014 Northwest Conference Tournament Championship in the event held at Allen East High School. Delphos Jefferson (279 points) took second place followed by Spencerville (265 points) in third.

Blufton boys' vs. Kenton moved to Feb. 12

Bluffton High School boys' basketball game at Kenton has been moved from Tuesday Feb. 18 to Wednesday, Feb. 12.

The freshmen will play at 4:30 p.m. and JV approximately 6 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.

Woman Wise Mammography hosting free mammography screening day for qualifying women and men

Blanchard Valley Hospital’s Woman Wise Mammography will be offering free screening mammograms Friday, Feb. 21, at Woman Wise located in the EasternWoods Outpatient Center, 15900 Medical Drive South, Findlay, as part of the Hancock County Mammography Screening Initiative (HCMSI).

Appointments for free mammograms will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to those who qualify. Women and men must be uninsured and meet eligibility criteria related to age, breast cancer risk and household income.
