St. John Mennonite children's musical April 28

The Children's Choir at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora, will present the musical "Blast Off! Discovering the God of Creation," twice on Sunday, April 28. Performances are at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Nearly 65 youth are involved in the production. The church is located at 15988 Road 4, Pandora.

The story takes place in a little girl's dream the night before going to a space camp. In the dream Rudy and her two siblings find themselves in a space shuttle flying through the atmosphere.

Hospital Auxiliary holds Spring Step Shoes-Miche purse event

Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary will hold a Spring Step Shoes and Miche purse with changing shells and handles shopping spree from Monday, April 29 to Thursday, May 2.

The sale provides shoppers with special discounts.

The sale is in the hospital conference room, with the following hours:
Monday, April 29  10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Tuesday, April 30   8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Wednesday, May 1 9 a.m. -11 a.m.; noon-2 p.m.
Thursday, May 2    8 a.m.-11 a.m.

Tree Commission's Arbor Day celebration on April 27

The Bluffton Tree Commission will celebrate Arbor Day at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 27, in a
planting at the village park to honor Bluffton's men's and women's garden clubs. The event is open to the public. 

In other news the Tree Commission has identified approximately 15 street trees that need to be replaced.

They'll perform the May Pole dance for the 100th time; here's the complete May Day schedule

Bluffton University will mark its annual May Day weekend May 2-5 with traditional alumni reunions, student activities and graduation events, including the 100th edition of the Maypole dance with which alumni are familiar.

The dance features 16 first-year students who wear colorful costumes and dance in pairs around the Maypole, weaving streamers together. This year’s performance, part of the 11 a.m. May Day ceremony Saturday, May 4, on the Centennial Hall lawn, adds a ninth couple of “legacy” students, who have longstanding family ties to Bluffton.

Bluffton Diamond Sports offers awesome prizes in raffle fundraiser

The Bluffton Diamond Sports will hold a raffle ticket fundraiser, which offers several prizes, according to Erinn Prater, president of the organization. Tickets are $10 each and will be available from players, coaches and parents of players.
