Four team records set and 13 swimmers qualify for Districts

The Bluffton High School boys and girls swim team competed on Saturday, February 11 in the North West D-2 Section 5 meet in Lima, Ohio at the YMCA. Bluffton joined sixteen other teams: Ada, Celina, Elida, Fostoria, Kenton, Lima Bath, Lima Central Catholic, Lima Shawnee, Marion Local, McComb, Minster, New Breman, Ridgemont, Saint Marys Memorial, St Henry and Van Buren.
Sectionals is the first stop on the road to the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s State Swimming and Diving competition. Swimmers do not get points for finishes at sectionals; the top 32 fastest times across six sectional sites qualify to move on to the North West D-2 District meet.
The District meet will be held at Bowling Green State University on Friday, February 17. Girls swim In the morning and boys in the evening. From there, fastest times across all four Districts will move on to the state competition. State qualifiers will be announced by Sunday Feb. 19.
