Disc golf Team Mojo of Bucyrus organized a May 4 Star Wars Day tournament, which served as the first ever Bluffton Open at the village's Bluffton Hospital Disc Golf Course.

The event was a Professional Disc Golf Association-sanctioned singles tournament.

According to Bluffton Disc Golf association member Neil Hauenstein, there were 100 disc golfers from all over Ohio, Indiana and Michigan at the Village Park for the event. Online registration for the contest saw all 100 spots sold within 5 minutes.

There were several divisions, allowing players of all skill levels to compete. Two temporary holes were added to the 18-hole course layout to accommodate more players.

Hauenstein reports, “the Force was with Josh Budwit of Ada, who navigated two rounds at 21 strokes under par to win the top division. His round included an ace on hole number 6.”
