Were you born in Bluffton? When did you graduate from BHS?

I was born on May 26, 1975 at Bluffton Hospital. My mom went into labor at our family cottage two hours north in Michigan. She and my dad drove all the way back! I graduated from BHS in 1994.

Tell me some favorite stories about growing up here. Who were some of your childhood friends? Favorite teachers?

They say in the real estate business what counts is location, location location.
Sam Shriver has more on an effort in Bluffton to cut back on energy usage by building close to the assets of the community.

This home, being built on north Lawn Ave. in Bluffton is close to just about everything in the community.

Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre, 220 N. Main St., Ada, will host its 7th annual open house on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to Darcey Schneider, studio owner.

Taking place will be registration for fall classes, fitted for your dance shoes, purchase and shop for new dance attire, bags, and more, according to Schneider. There will be free giveaways.

Grace Myers, 10, of the Bluffton Cattle 4-H Club, shows one of her 10-week-old chicks to Albert Bauman. The Mennonite Memorial Home held a "farm day" last week. 4-H members from Bluffton and Ada brought their animals to share with residents.

As the 2013-14 The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce season begins, the chamber invites businesses, organizations and individuals in the community to join the chamber.

The chamber currently has 182 members and has expanded this season to offer memberships to individuals not necessarily associated with a business or organization.

"We invite interested residents of the larger Bluffton community to consider joining the chamber to show their support the community," said Fred Steiner, chamber CEO.

Small House Bluffton Design/Build announces an open house Sunday, July 28, from  2 to 4 p.m. at 207 N. Lawn Ave., Bluffton, site of the contractor’s first construction project.

The house is designed with improved energy efficiency, coupled with smaller living spaces, among other “green” building practices.
