Krysti’s Music Studio presents its seventh annual Krysti’s/Campus Life performation from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Bluffton Farmers’ Market.

The event is a fundraiser for Bluffton-Pandora Youth for Christ/Campus Life program.

“You may come and go as you like,” said Krysti Schey. “There will be continual musical entertainment throughout the event provided by my students.”

Riley Creek Baptist Church will host the Joyfulaires Quartet during their 10:30 a.m. worship service and for a full concert beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, accoridng to Dave Lanquist, pastor.

"The Joyfulaires Quartet is one of the finest southern gospel groups in America and is known for their excellent harmony and tremendous gift to minister," said Lanquist.

Larry and Judy Reichenbach, Tom Fett Road, Bluffton, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 10, at The Centre in Bluffton.

Rev. Drummond married the couple Aug. 15, 1964, in the Congregational Church, Union Grove, Wisc.

Larry graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1964 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He retired as CEO and plant manager of Roger’s Triem, Carborro, North Carolina.

Judy graduated from Union Grove High School and is a homemaker.

The next PrimeTimers event takes place at noon, Tuesday, Aug. 5, at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Road 4, Pandora. 

PrimeTimers is a monthly non-denominational gathering that includes a time of fellowship, lunch and entertainment. The featured guests this month will be the youth groups from Ebenezer Mennonite and St John Mennonite. 

The Ebenezer youth group will share about their experiences at the Black Mountain Home for Children in North Carolina, while the St. John youth group will share about their trip to Detroit working with Motown Mission. 

A memorial service for Ralf Bronnemeier, Grob Systems CEO, who died in a plane accident on July 27, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bluffton. Rev. David Ross will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bluffton Food Pantry, P.O. Box 52, Bluffton, Ohio. 

Spectrum Salon, 422 N. Main St., is the host business for the Wednesday, July 30, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce cash mob.

Long-time resident Julia (Oppermann) Gable turns 95 on Aug. 6. Her family invites Icon viewers to send her a birthday greeting. Enclosing a short note would be great.

Maxine J. McCafferty, 90, died July 24, 2014, at 9:31 p.m. at her daughter's residence in Lima. She was born March 26, 1924, in Riley Township-Pandora to the late Clarence and Eddyth (West) Fridley. On Nov. 20, 1942, she married William J. "Bill" McCafferty who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2002.

She had worked in the cafeteria at Bluffton Elementary School and had previously worked at Triplett Corp., Bluffton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Bluffton Senior Citizens. She was a 1942 graduate of Pandora High School. 

The Bluffton Shuffleboard Club held its annual Sweetheart Tournament on July 26.

Twelve teams competed with Betty and Bernie Baumgartner of Pandora  finishing as the top Sweetheart team. 

"The Dark Crystal," a Jim Henson movie produced in the early 1980s, is the feature movie on today's "Monday Movie Madness" at the Bluffton Public Library.

The movie will be shown in the Richland Room at 1 p.m. today. It is free and popcorn is served. The movie is not recommended for youth younger than second grade.
