The Peace, Pies and Prophets tour is coming to Bluffton University at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, in Yoder Recital Hall.
Since March 2012, Ted & Company has been collaborating with Christian Peacemaker Teams and local peacemakers to raise funds and awareness for peace. The evening includes the show, “I’d Like to Buy an Enemy,” a satire that explores peace, justice and the American way.
The apprentices of Plumbers, Pipefitters & Service Technicians Local Union 776 along with a number of volunteers in the community are helping to update a Lima area home for the family of a child with cancer.
10-year-old Brandon Schindler was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndromes or MDS in March 2014. Brandon has undergone a bone marrow transplant and is now receiving treatments to stop his body from rejecting the new cells. Before he can return home from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital later this year, his Shawnee Township home must be germ free.
The Bluffton First United Methodist Church Youth will hold their annual baked spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, in the church Fellowship Hall.
All students in the middle school and high school classes will be selling tickets through Feb. 5.
Tickets are $7 each and includes baked spaghetti, salad, bread stick and drink.
Desserts will be available for a donation.

Jan. 13 was a free information session about the competition. Spots are still open in the competition, but the final deadline to enter is Thursday, Jan. 21, according to Fred Steiner, BCE director.
Classes continue weekly for seven weeks in the town hall. This is the 7th annual BCE competition.
Two openings remain in the Friday, Jan. 15, Hands-On Workshop "Improving Online Visibility," led by Paula Scott and offered by Bluffton Center for Entreprenuers.
“What happens when a visitor looks for your Bluffton business with a search engine or app?” asks Scott. “Don’t know. Or, don’t like what you find?”

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1/2 c Dijon mustard
1/4 c maple syrup
1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
Salt and pepper
Rosemary
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a small bowl mix mustard, syrup and vinegar. Place chicken breast into 9 by 13 inch baking dish.
