He was Bluffton University's vice president for enrollment management

Bluffton resident, Ron Headings, has accepted an interim position at Westminster College in Salt Lake City.  

He became the Interim Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management on May 1, and will continue in that interim role for up to two years.  Ron and Linda Headings will move to Salt Lake City, but intended to return to Bluffton at the conclusion of the assignment.

To Hilty Preschool and Child Care Program In collaboration with Bluffton Lions

Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., Bluffton, in collaboration with Bluffton Lions Club, recently donated 100 like-new children’s books to Hilty Preschool and Child Care Program at Hilty Home, Pandora.

The donation helps to celebrate the Lions Clubs International Centennial, according to Christina Walton, store manager and Bluffton Lion Club board member.

Larry R. "Pickle" Dillman, 73,died May 12, 2017, in the Emergency Room of Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.  Larry was born April 24, 1944, in Bluffton to the late Robert and JoAnn (Stonehill) Dillman.   On May 18, 1991, he married Dee Rettig who survives.

Pickle was a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Bowling Green State University.  He was the co-owner of the former Happy Ours Bar in Bluffton.  Pickle was a member of the Findlay Moose Lodge #698.  He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.

Main Street’s Sports Warehouse transformed into The Scoreboard last week during its first-year anniversary under its ownership by Natalie and John Mueller.

The name change is something Natalie has worked on since enrolling in Bluffton Center for Entrepreneur’s 2017 Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition.

37th annual academic awards program

Bluffton High school academic award winners were recognized at the 37th annual BHS Academic Awards Program on May 10.

Awards were presented to students in each class. Seniors receiving scholarships were also recognized.

April Misamore earns selective internship

April Misamore, Bluffton University junior, a food and nutrition major from Findlay, recently received two back-to-back recognitions that emphasize the hard work and dedication she’s put into her academics.

Misamore earned a competitive, paid internship this summer at Purdue University and won the Ohio Nutrition Council Scholarship.

She will begin the internship after completing her cross-cultural experience in Chicago during the May-term.

BHS students in Allen Lima Youth Leadership class

Four Bluffton High School students were among 35 members of the Allen Lima Youth Leadership class that graduated in late April.

Bluffton students are Sydney Hoff, Kayla Kindle, Rameen Omar and Aimee Ritter.

This year’s students have worked as a group since October. Students selected three service projects to address concerns in their communities.

All-Heartland Conference release

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University softball team had two of its members recognized when the All-Heartland Conference awards were announced on Wednesday, May 10. Emily Scupholm (Cuyahoga Falls/Our Lady of the Elms) and Jessie Madzia (Massillon/Tuslaw) were both named Honorable Mention All-HCAC. The Heartland Conference also announced the All-Sportsmanship Team.
