Book ReViews donates 100 children's books
Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., Bluffton, in collaboration with Bluffton Lions Club, recently donated 100 like-new children’s books to Hilty Preschool and Child Care Program at Hilty Home, Pandora.
The donation helps to celebrate the Lions Clubs International Centennial, according to Christina Walton, store manager and Bluffton Lion Club board member.
Walton said that she read about projects that Lions Clubs across the United States were doing to celebrate its centennial. She thought the Book ReViews, through the Lion’s Literacy Initiative, which donates to area preschool programs, would work to promote the importance of reading to the children.
Hilty Preschool and Child Care, part of the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, is open for children of employees and children of the community.
Hilty Home and the preschool offer an inter-generational program for the children and Hilty Home nursing home and assisted living residents. The preschool is licensed to care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
Walton said that this collaboration is a great way to make the most use of the literary resources, encourage children to read and enjoy books, and to have a lasting impact on Bluffton and Pandora communities.
Book ReViews is open Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The bookstore offers quality used books of all genres including vintage at reasonable prices. Book ReViews, a designated Book Saver store, operates from donation of books. For large donations, please call 419-358-6999.
