From June's 8th annual charitable golf scramble

Bluffton American Legion Post 382 distributed $7,400 from proceeds of its 8th annual charitable golf scramble to 14 organizations earlier this week.

Recipients were:

Don and Jodi Brauen will host a fall open house for Brauen's Gourds on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2 and 3.

The open house is at their farm at 7140 Tom Fett Road, Bluffton. Hours are:
• Saturday, Sept. 2 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunday, Sept. 3 - 1 to 4 p.m.

 

The Hardin County Sheriff’s office is currently investigating a multiple vehicle crash that occurred at 8:04 a.m. at County Road 110 and Township Road 205 in Goshen Township of Hardin County.

A southbound vehicle on Township Road 205 occupied by five juveniles failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a vehicle headed eastbound on County Road 110.

Three of the five juveniles were lifeflighted to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo with life-threatening injuries.

Lifelong Learning Connections, formerly known as Senior Forum, will be offering a variety of sessions in October.

September is National Preparedness Month! Are you ready?

Randy Augsburger, local online freelance writer of preparedness articles, will be covering the basics of how to prepare for a variety of emergencies.  Topics will include: The Rule of Threes, and food, water, heat, and power options. Q&A to follow, as time permits.

There’s a new book club in town! Register your family for the “Expand Your World” Family Book Club now held monthly at Bluffton Public Library. This month’s meeting is on Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. and will center on Africa. Learn about our global citizenship through stories and crafts, and collect book recommendations for further reading. This book club is co-led by Joanna Gratz of Trades of Hope.
