Adult Book Discussion group meets at noon on Wednesday, Mar. 7 to discuss Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy by Karen Abbott and will have the privilege of meeting with the author via Skype.

This monthly discussion group is open to new members, and registration is requested. Copies of each month’s book are available for checkout the month prior to each discussion, and you may register when you check out.

Purchasing Life Insurance is not the most exciting product to buy. Some people argue that it is not a worthwhile investment. Plus, it is not easy or ‘comfortable’ discussing the “what if” scenarios that coincide with the need for life insurance.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Bluffton University softball crew took to the diamond for their second set of games in Florida on Monday, March 5. They dropped a 9-8 decision to Bridgewater before knocking off Lebanon Valley in a night affair under the lights. The split puts the Beavers at 1-3 for the season.

Bluffton University is now offering a path for qualified students interested in teaching to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in four years.
 
The 3+1 Educator Preparation Program allows early childhood education majors or intervention specialist majors to obtain their teaching licensure and complete their bachelor’s degree in three years.

To compete at Northwest Ohio YMCA-League Championships

On Saturday and Sunday, March 10-11, the Bluffton area will have 27 swimmers competing at the Northwest Ohio YMCA-League Championships at Bowling Green State University. They will compete with more than 800 swimmers from the Northwest Ohio league that includes 18 teams from lower Michigan and northwest Ohio.

All of these swimmers are on the Bluffton Sardines summer swim team, but for winter swim, they swim with the Lima YMCA Barracuda Team or the Putnam County YMCA.

Several area students were named to the Dean’s List for fall semester 2017-18 at Ohio Northern University. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must attain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled full-time.

Edie Reichenbach, 1175 Township Road 28, Bluffton, wrote the winner caption to Icon’s “write a caption to this photo contest.”

The photo shows Roger Edwards, president of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association, holding bags of senior citizen peanut brittle.

The winning caption reads: “Why, of course, officer, I was just heading over to pay for these.”

She wins two tickets to the Saturday, March 10, murder mystery dinner theatre at The Centre, which features “Revenge of Frankenstein.”
