Having not played in a week, the Pirate baseball team gave their fans a dramatic extra inning, walkoff win over Fort Jennings Wednesday evening at Kyle Luginbuhl Memorial Field.  Sophomore Cayden Rayle had the game winning hit in the bottom of the eighth inning for a 4-3 BHS victory.

On Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Icon viewers have an opportunity to view the glove factory at 327 N. Main St.

The Et Cetera Shop board hosts the open house. Et Cetera will relocate to the glove factory following renovations.

Tammy Cottle provided the Icon with some photos from her family showing some of the employees of the glove factory.

She recalls as a little girl in the early ‘70s climbing the stairs to the second floor where it was so hot and stuffy, “so that we could surprise grandmother, who worked there, with lunch.”

"My son and I made up a game combining Payday, Life, and Monopoly"

Interviewed by Liz Gordon-Hancock

Steve graduated from Bluffton High School in 2003. He married Elizabeth Knick (from Bath) and has a son and two daughters.

Did you go to college, and, if so, what was your degree?
I went to University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) and earned my Bachelors in Business Administration and Marketing, and started my master's in 2012 for Arts and Organizational Behavior. (That's a fancy way of saying how to create corporate culture.)

It is when eating more veggies in your diet - here's how

By Christine Schroeder, MOT, OTR/L

“Is the grass really greener on the other side?”

(Well, when it comes to incorporating and eating more veggies in your diet…..YES!)

Spring is in the air….Well, kind of. LOL

It’s that wonderful time of year when we look forward to everything coming to life again. Flowers blooming. Gardens being planted. Grass growing (well, unless you don’t like mowing). If you are like me, this comes with mixed feelings. I love all the possibilities of spring, but quickly feel overwhelmed by all there is to do.

New owner, Et Cetera Shop, invites you to a Friday afternoon open house

The Board of Et Cetera Shop, Inc., invites the public to an open house at the Peerless Glove Factory, 327 N. Main St., Bluffton, on Friday, April 20, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

"Come and get a look at the old glove factory before it becomes the new location of the local Et Cetera Shop," said Arman Habegger, Et Cetera board chair.

"Renovation will not yet have begun, but we will have some illustrations of how the new store may appear.  Some of you may have photos from the building’s earlier operation as a glove factory, and we would welcome seeing those."
