Wayne Becker, 61 of Avon Lake passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, February 3, 2022. He was born February 11, 1960 to parents David Becker and Linda Staley (stepfather Don Staley) in Lima, OH.
Wayne was very family oriented, and his true joy came from the memories he created with his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He loved watching his children play sports and never missed a single event. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed watching and attending their games. He had a passion for golf and listening to vinyl classic rock.

Lucas Prichard, son of Bluffton residents Pat and Kelly Prichard, has committed to play football at Yale University. Lucas is a senior at Bath High School where his father Pat teaches.
Prichard visited six schools before deciding on Yale. The Yale Bulldogs football program is part of the NCAA Division I and is one of the oldest in the world. It began competing in 1872.
Terry Lynn Strahm, 73, went to be with his Creator and Maker on Tuesday, February 2, 2022 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Terry was born August 23, 1948 in Bluffton to Maurice and Ruth (Garmatter) Strahm. He married Linda Bender Strahm who survives.
The Bluffton University men's basketball team battled Mount St. Joseph for 40 minutes, but the Beavers came up just short in a 64-59 loss on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2022. Bluffton fell to 5-13 and 1-9 in the Heartland Conference, while the Lions improved to 8-11 and 4-8 in the HCAC.
Heidi Fletcher, 51, died peacefully on January 26. Heidi was born February 12, 1970 in Bellevue, Illinois but has known a life of travel and has lived in many states before moving to Bluffton, Ohio just about a year ago with her life partner, Tom Arnold. While working fulltime; attending classes fulltime; and raising her son, Heidi graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with High Honors. She taught elementary education in both Texas and North Carolina.

State representative Susan Manchester shared thoughts on relationships and values during the Bluffton University Presidential Leadership Forum on January 25 in Yoder Recital Hall.
“The investments people make in you and the investments you make in other people transcend a lifetime,” said Susan Manchester. The State Representative for Ohio’s 84th House District (Mercer County and portions of Auglaize, Darke and Shelby counties). During the presentation for students, faculty and staff, Manchester shared about her first day as a freshman state representative in 2019.
