An AEP Ohio postcard is in the mail to Bluffton electricity customers. Titled "Important News About Your Smart Meter" it also includes information about a new disconnection policy. It reads:

"We are reminding customers about important information regarding your new smart meter. Your smart meter comes with many benefits. It eliminates estimated bills, provides information to our crews to improve response times to outages, and it gives you the power to view and manage your energy usage on-line at AEPOhio.com.

March 24, 2025 Press Release from Ada Police Department

On March 23, 2025, at 12:35 a.m., an Ada officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near State Route 81 and State Route 235 in the Village of Ada. The vehicle failed to stop and continued West bound at approximately 80-85 miles-per-hour.

County Health Rankings, published annually by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, provides a detailed look at the factors influencing health outcomes. During Bluffton University’s Forum on Tuesday, March 18, Dr. John D. Roth, emeritus professor of history at Goshen College and project director of MennoMedia’s Anabaptism at 500 initiative reflected on what tradition teaches us about life's most challenging question: What is the Good Life?

As part of the university's yearlong commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Anabaptist movement, Roth explored the core principles that have shaped the Anabaptist faith and how these values remain relevant in today’s world.

A settlement was filed in the Hardin County Common Pleas Court on Friday, March 21 in a case between Scott Gerber, plaintiff, vs. Ohio Northern University, et al. Judge Jonathan P. Hein provided a report of pre-trial conference and Notice of Agreed Settlement.

Gerber was removed from his teaching position at the Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law in Spring 2023. A series of lawsuits have been filed by both Gerber and ONU in the intervening period.

The report says the Court heard a summary of the positions of each party with the plaintiff identifying “procedural defects” in Gerber’s removal and claiming “ breach-of-contract, retaliation, defamation, and false light.” Ohio Northern University asked the court to dismiss “claims based on public policy violations and emotional distress.” MORE ▶︎

A mid-week Lent service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, on Wednesday, March 26, beginning at 7:00 p.m.  

Vicar Eric Fluegge, from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Findlay, will preach on Psalm 51:8-9 with the theme being: Removing our Guilt. The reading of Jesus' suffering is from Luke 22:54-71. Hymns are "Not All the Blood of Beasts, A Lamb Goes Uncomplaining Forth, and Now the Light Has Gone Away." 

A free spaghetti supper will be served by the Siefker family beginning at 5:30 p.m.
