On May 5-June 30 from 9-11:00 a.m. the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St., will host an Area Agency on Aging class series on “A Matter of Balance.”

Many older adults experience a fear of falling. People who develop this fear often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness making the risk of falling even greater.

A Matter of Balance is a multiple-day program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity in older adults.

Bishop T. Florence ‘25, a math major, will present the First Tuesday in the Library Forum, “Basketball by the Numbers: Understanding the Impact of Stats,” at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, in Musselman Library Reading Room.

During the presentation, Florence will explain the importance of advanced stats/analytics for sports as investigated on during his independent study project.

Marilyn Rose Reigle, 93, passed away March 27, 2025, at the Meadows of Leipsic.

Marilyn was born March 24, 1932 in Vaughnsville to Howard and Rose (Drerup) Auchmuty who preceded her in death. On February 4, 1955 she married Marvin Reigle who preceded her in death on January 25, 2017.

Marathana Prothro, director of general education, will provide the Forum “Gaslit Generation: The Myth of ‘For You’” at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, in Yoder Recital Hall.

The presentation will show how social media companies work against their users by nurturing a culture of self-forgetting.

Oncology services at Blanchard Valley Health System recently received accreditation under the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Program.

The ACS CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards.

Donald "Don" Wayne Steiner, 87, passed away on March 26, 2025 at his residence. Don was born April 10, 1937 in Pandora to the late Ellis and Barbara (Zimmerly) Steiner. On September 5, 1992 he married Kathy Smith Steiner who survives.

COLUMBUS – The 2025 Divisions IV, V, VI and VII boys basketball All-Ohio teams were announced Wednesday, March 26, by the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association. Bluffton senior guard Marek Donaldson was named honorable mention all-state for Div. VI.

The 6-1 Donaldson averaged 13.5 points per game and led the Pirates in three-point field goals this season. He helped lead the Pirates to a 16-8 record in 2024-25.

Trey Sagester of New Madison Tri-Village was named Div. VI Ohio Player of the Year.

The All-Ohio teams are based on nominations from the seven districts of the OPSMA, which vote on the all-district teams from regular-season accomplishments.

The Divisions I, II and III boys basketball All-Ohio teams will be announced on March 27.
