BLUFFTON LIONS CLUB MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton Lions Club will provide a program at noon on Tuesday, June 17 with Dr. William Hogan.

Hogan is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist serving patients in Lima, Bluffton, and Ottawa. He is Mayo Clinic trained and has a professional interest in interventional pain management, spinal cord stimulation, comprehensive pain care, and providing continuity of care.

BLUFFTON COMMUNITY POOL FACEBOOK__We are changing swim lessons this year to better meet the community's needs! Only levels 1-3 are being offered during regular sessions.

All students will be evaluated on day one and placed in a group for the remainder of the session starting on day two. 

When you sign your child up. we are only taking names and contact info, and then we will send you an online form to complete the process.

The June 13 Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting gave guests an opportunity to meet new EMS Chief Noah Babcock, catch up with Chamber activities such as fundraising for the August 5 fireworks and hear a smattering of planned and impromptu announcements from attendees. Nancy E. Thornton, 84, passed away June 14, 2025 at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Nancy was born June 26, 1940 in Bluffton to the late Ivan and Helen (Bell) Montgomery. On October 1, 1972 she married Richard "Dick" Thornton who preceded her in death on March 10, 1997. 

Nancy graduated from Bluffton High School. She was a telephone operator and had also worked at Ex-Cello (Airfoil Textron). Nancy was a member of Pandora United Methodist Church where she had played piano. She loved gospel music and spending time with her nieces and nephews. 

Dog shot and killed by off-duty deputy, woman and child unharmed

JUNE 15 BLUFFTON POLICE DEPT. MEDIA RELEASE__On June 14, 2025 at approximately 2:43 p.m. Bluffton police officers responded to a report of an incident involving a dog running at large that had cornered a woman and a young child in the area of 70 State Route 103.

According to witness accounts and preliminary investigation, an off-duty deputy happened to be in the area and observed the dog behaving aggressively toward the individuals. The deputy quickly exited his vehicle to assist and protect the civilians.

Visitors to the 2025 Bluffton Festival of Wheels walked between a scattering of raindrops until about 6:30 p.m. when Bluffton Lions organizers decided to present awards a little early.

The event provided a wide array of vehicles including cars, trucks and tractors of all vintages. There was also food and music--both vintage tunes from a DJ and a live performance by Mariachi Garibaldi at Campito Lindo.
