Three topics are on the agenda for the Bluffton Planning Commission meeting on Monday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Review of traffic data regarding the closure of Vine St. and expansion of the Bluffton Exempted Village Schools campus across Vine St.
  • Zoning District assignment to the newly annexed properties on the east side of I-75
  • Request to move lot lines among three adjoining properties owned by Andy Chappell-Dick on W. Elm St and N. Lawn Ave.

Forky is a Disney-Pixar character created from a plastic spork and appears in Toy Story 4. Forky has googly eyes and pipe cleaners for arms. Forky has a series of short films created by Ohio Northern University alumnus Bob Peterson. Bob wrote, directed and narrated the series titled Forky Asks A Question. These questions include what is art, what is money, what is a friend and what is time. 

Community invitation to meet apprentices from Germany

JULY 16 MEDIA RELEASE__The Village of Bluffton is building a friendship with the city of Mindelheim, Germany. This Twin Towns initiative will be an ongoing process with an important kickoff event taking place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 on the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall.

GROB Systems is hosting a meet and greet with a presentation led by six GROB-Werke apprentices who have spent the past three weeks in Bluffton.  

On Tuesday, July 22, Bluffton Public Library will be hosting Bluffton's Got Talent - IF enough performers signed up!

JUNE 15 MEDIA RELEASE__The first meeting of the Bluffton Music Boosters for the 2025-2026 school year will be Monday, August 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School band room.

Parents of all music students in Bluffton Schools are welcome to attend and be a part of the boosters.

We continue to meet on the first Monday at 7:00 p.m.--in September on 2nd Monday due to holiday--in October, November, January, February, March & April.

You may have heard there's a baby on the way, or you may have seen the post about Jonah's new job. You may have asked, "how will they do this with a baby on the way?" That's a good question.

On Mon., Aug.11 at 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will host a Project Wild Workshop at the McElroy Environmental Education Center, 2355 Ada Rd., Lima, Ohio.

JULY 15 MEDIA RELEASE__On Wed., July 23, at 3:30 p.m., the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan  Park District will offer Prairie Fairies at Motter Metro Park, 10740  Columbus Grove Rd., Bluffton.

Come out to Motter Metro Park and help a naturalist look for real life fairies of the prairie–butterflies and moths! Together we will learn about the importance  of prairies, how to observe and handle butterflies, and how to appreciate the  beauty of this ecosystem. Butterfly nets provided. Guests are invited to come  wearing fairy wings or flower crowns for fun! Closed-toe shoes and socks are  recommended.

The intersection of State Route 81 and County Road 15, which is located 2.5 miles west of the Village of Ada, has been identified as an upcoming ODOT Intersection Safety Project slated for the year 2030.

ODOT has been designated as the project sponsor for construction of a roundabout with funding of $4.55M. According to a July 3 media release for the State of Ohio, the Highway Safety Improvement Program addresses road locations with a history of fatal or injury crashes where other safety improvements have not been effective.
