OCT 28 MEDIA RELEASE__Deborah Yoder '23, communications manager for the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery, will present "Loving Our Indigenous Neighbors" during Bluffton University's Forum at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 in Yoder Recital Hall.
Yoder will examine how working for systemic change and justice, particularly on behalf of Indigenous communities, can be a powerful expression of love and advocacy rooted in faith.
FROM BSC NEWSLETTER__Volunteers at the Bluffton Senior Center will start making its famous peanut brittle on Monday, November 3 at 8:00 a.m. and continue every Monday in November.
This is one of the center's biggest fundraisers of the year. It takes around 30 volunteers to make the candy. Many hands make light work and more fun. New volunteers are always welcomed.
Not everyone can make it every week so we encourage people to come when they can.

FROM FACEBOOK__Anna Jacomet, co-owner and yoga instructor at Jacomet's Martial Arts, 121 S Main St., has graduated with a certification as an Ayurveda Specialist.
Jacomet has gone beyond 250-hour teaching certification to complete a total of 550 hours to achieve the Ayurveda Specialist certification.

FROM ADAICON.COM__Ada ballots for the November 4 General Election include the opportunity to vote for four candidates running for four seats on the Village of Ada Council.
Council members Bob Simmons and Jeff Oestreich are not running for reelection, and their seats will open on January 1, 2026.

UPDATED__On November 3 at 9:30 a.m., the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center will host a program by Justin Harbison, a Veteran Service Officer at the Allen County Veterans Commission.
Harbison will talk about the services that the agency provides, as well as briefly discussing VA pension, compensation and burial benefits.
This event is free and open to the public, including veterans and their spouses.
The Bluffton Senior Center is located at 132 N. Main St.

In 1973, the band Aerosmith, featuring lead singer Steven Tyler, released a rock ballad titled Dream On. The song appeared on their debut album, named after the group. In an interview, Steven Tyler shared that he would lie on the floor under the family piano listening to his classically trained father play music.
Tyler had composed the song by the age of 14. Dream On was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2018 and is listed in the top 500 greatest songs of all time.
