BLUFFTON __Several Bluffton volleyball standouts were named to District 8 All-Star teams recently in voting conducted by coaches in the District 8 Volleyball Association.

Kendall Stackhouse and Karlie Lora were named to the District 8 All-Star second team.

Pirate seniors Stackhouse, Libby Hocanson and Vanessa Cross were named to play for team IV in the District 8 Senior All-Star Game. The match will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at Coldwater High School.

The All-Star banquet will be held on Sunday, November 2, at Celina.

KALIDA__The Bluffton High School volleyball team lost in straight sets to WBL power Ottawa-Glandorf in Div. V Northwest District 2 semifinal action on Tuesday, October 21 at Kalida to end their season.

With the 25-22, 25-13, 27-25 loss, the Pirate spikers finished another solid campaign with a 16-8 record.

O-G improved to 19-5 after the sweep victory, although the first and third sets were quite close.

Senior standout Kendall Stackhouse led the Pirates with 10 kills in her final Bluffton match.

KALIDA __The Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost 3-2 to Elida after overtime and a shootout in the Div. IV Northwest District 2 semifinals on Tuesday, October 21 at Kalida.

The sixth-seeded Pirate boys end their season 6-10-3 after the tough defeat.

Fifth seed Elida improved to 7-8-3 with the hard-fought win.

Each team scored a goal in the first half to head to intermission knotted at 1-1. Both clubs tallied a goal in the second half to force overtime.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls soccer team dominated local rival Ada 5-0 in the Div. V Northwest 2 District semifinals at Steinmetz Field on a cool Monday night, October 20.

The fourth-seeded Pirate girls improved to 10-8-1 with the decisive victory. Playing a rugged non-league schedule made the Bluffton squad better than their record might indicate.

Fifth seed Ada ended its season with a 12-5-2 record.

Bluffton Foot and Ankle, a medical practice at 148 N. Main St. in Bluffton, has announced that it will close on January 1, 2026.

A letter from Daniel W. Kirk, D.P.M., to patients notes, "The increasing overhead costs have made it unsustainable to keep the practice open. I will not be able to provide medical care after that date. I will provide your medical care up until then."

Kirk will be providing care at The Disease Management Center located at 950 S. Main St. in Celina.
