FROM BSC NEWSLETTER__Kathy Withrow from Elara Health will begin an Education and Exercise Class on Friday, January 9 at 11:30 a.m. The focus of this class is strengthening and stretching to music. It can be done from a chair or standing. The goal is to maintain strength while socializing and having fun. It is free to attend and may be a monthly event.

FROM BSC NEWSLETTER__Senior Center members will have a potluck and Debbie Brennaman will be providing soup. Please bring a side to go with the soup or dessert. Mike Buetter from the Lincoln Highway Association will present “Ohio Landmarks on the Lincoln Highway.” Buetter will also discuss the history of the Highway. Lou Geiger and Jim Benner will both turn 90 years young in January. Their birthdays at the January Dinner Meeting with red roses and life memberships.

PANDORA__The Bluffton High School girls basketball team went on the road and defeated local non-league rival Pandora-Gilboa 58-43 on Saturday, January 3.
The Pirate girls improved to 7-5 overall after the road rivalry victory.
Pandora-Gilboa fell to 5-5 with the defeat.
Bluffton utilized a balanced offensive attack to win the contest.
Sophomore guard Maelee Miller topped the Pirate girls with 12 points. Junior Greta Myers netted 11 markers. Junior Gracie Warren and senior Macy Schaadt netted nine points apiece.
BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys basketball team lost to visiting Blanchard Valley Conference power Van Buren 59-42 in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 3.
The Black Knights won the middle quarters by a combined score of 33-19 to pave the way to victory.
The Pirates trailed just 15-14 after the first quarter, but VB forged ahead 31-23 by the end of the first half.
A 17-10 VB third period stretched their margin to 48-33 going into the final stanza. The visitors narrowly won the fourth, 11-9.
FREMONT__The Bluffton High School wrestling team competed at the Fremont Ross “Al Vogenthaller”Invitational meet on Saturday, January 3.
Comprised of many big school teams from northwest Ohio, the 14-team event was won by Celina with 266 points. Host Fremont Ross finished second with 255.5 points, while Toledo Central Catholic came in third (181).
Carey nosed out Van Buren for fourth place, 147.5 points to 145.
The January meeting of the Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters is Monday, January 5 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bluffton Senior Center.
The program will be "Show & Share." Participants are invited to bring along three of their favorite quilting tools and/or quilting tips to share and explain. Maybe you use something that is not even intended to be used for quilting. Also, bring your "Show & Tell" items.
The Bluffton Public Library has announced a new start time for Hummin' & Strummin' for the months of January and February 2026. This musical gathering is on Monday evenings when the library is open, starting at 5:00 p.m. on the main floor.
