KENTON__The defending champion Bluffton Sardines summer swim team stood third overall at the annual eight-team West Ohio Aquatic League championship meet in Kenton after day one on Friday, July 10.
The Sardine boys and girls compiled 947 points on the first day, trailing only first-place Findlay (1,316) and Westside (1,284.5).
The Bluffton boys stand third with 540 points after day one. The Westside boys lead with 797 points, with Findlay second at 601.5.
EXCERPT FROM MINUTES__On June 11, Hancock County Engineer Doug Cade informed the Trustees that ODOT had been in contact with him about a proposed US 30 overpass on CR 15 (Between CR 1 and CR 304). This overpass was initiated due to a recent fatality at that intersection. As part of the proposed overpass at CR 15 ODOT proposes to close TR 51 and TR 52 access to US 30. Note: ODOT can close the median (make right-turn-only access to US 30) but can't close the road access (put in a cul-de-sac) unless the township agrees to the closure. Orange Township will need to respond to ODOT's TR51 and TR52 closure proposal (answer to Doug Cade) by August 1.

MEDIA RELEASE__Join the Bluffton Lions Club for the 12th Annual Ride to Remember on Saturday, July 11 This year’s event offers both an in-person ride and a flexible option to ride on your own time at any location.
The in-person ride takes cyclists through the Village of Bluffton, Ohio, and the scenic surrounding countryside, with routes passing through Gilboa, Pandora, Ottawa, Rawson, and other nearby towns.
Park and check in at a new starting location, the Bluffton University Sommer Center on Rosenberger Drive, Bluffton.

BPL UPDATES_A program on the Newark Earthworks and historical indigenous architecture will be presented on Wednesday, July 22 @ 6:00 p.m. at the Bluffton Public Library.
The program will be presented by Sarah Hinkelman, Site Superintendent, Newark Earthworks and Flint Ridge. She will talk about historical architecture built by indigenous people over 2000 years ago. The structures are in what is now known as Newark, Ohio.
