A urinary tract infection, commonly abbreviated as UTI, is an often uncomfortable condition that may present with difficult or painful urination (dysuria). Many people experience burning or stinging with urination when they have a urinary tract infection, although it is possible for an infection to be asymptomatic or masked by other conditions, such as common symptoms of pregnancy (i.e., frequent urination).

Eric Kurtz, a Goshen College graduate and executive director of Mennonite Central Committee Great Lakes, shared the history of Mennonite Central Committee at Bluffton University’s Forum on Tuesday, March 11.

The Bluffton High School Academic Team is the runner-up at the Bath Invitational on Monday, Mar. 10, 2025.

Team members are (L_R) Roselove Jebsen, Daphne Johnston, Asa Clingerman, Zoe Shank, and Maizie Digby.  

The team performed 5-1 in the tournament, losing only one match to Bath High School, the tournament champion.

The Lima News has reported that on March 12, 2025 in the Lima Municipal Court, Stephen R. Gray of Bluffton pleaded no contest and was found guilty of confinement of dogs.

Gray's sentence was 10 days jail, 10 days suspended; $150 fine.

The Ohio Department of Taxation has announced that, effective April 9, 2025, in accordance with the passage of HB 366, to support the Organized Crime Commission Fund, the fee associated with new vendor’s license applications will increase from twenty-five ($25) dollars to fifty ($50) dollars.

This includes county vendor’s and transient vendor’s licenses.

Gary Wetherill, President of the Swiss Community Historical Society, will speak at the Bluffton Lions Club meeting on Tuesday, March 18. The public is invited to attend the presentation, which will take place at noon at Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main St.

Wetherill will provide an update on construction of the society's Heritage Center and events for the upcoming season at the Schumacher Homestead, 8350 Bixel Rd, Bluffton.

The Heritage Center is repurposing the Bixel-Basinger Swiss Settlement barn previously located on the Dan and Cindy Basinger Farm. The repurposed barn will be heated and air-conditioned and include a large event space, classroom, artifact storage space and public restrooms. The facility will allow for longer visits during tours and events, and eliminate weather restrictions for visits.  READ MORE
