SEPT 10 MEDIA RELEASE__Napoleon Rd. between Dixie Hwy. and Main St. in Beaverdam will be closed for a paving project on Thursday, September 11, from 7:00 a.m.-4:00 pm.

This closure includes Napoleon Road north of 1-75 on and off ramps.

Carolyn M. Gillam, 79, passed away September 9, 2025 at her residence.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost 5-0 to visiting traditional power Liberty-Benton in a non-league match at Steinmetz Field on Tuesday, September 9.

The Pirates fell to 2-5-2 with the home defeat.

The Eagles improved to 6-1-1 after the win.

L-B scored two goals in the first half, then tallied three more in the final 20 minutes to win going away.

Eagle Tayton Troyer started the scoring in the 27th minute. Lincoln Holler made it 2-0 with a score five minutes later.

HARROD__The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team swept local rival Allen East in the Northwest Conference spike opener on Tuesday, September 9.

The Pirate girls swept the Mustangs 25-17, 25-9, 25-21 to record their sixth straight win.

Bluffton improved to 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the NWC after the road win. AE fell to 2-6 and 0-1 in NWC play with the defeat.

Karlie Lora led the victors with 14 kills. Kendall Stackhouse smacked down 13 kills, while Lainey Grandey added nine kills.

ANNA__The visiting Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost a 1-0 defensive struggle to Anna in a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 9.

The Pirate girls fell to 3-5 with the road defeat.

Anna, which plays in the Western Ohio Soccer League, improved its record to 5-3 after the low-scoring victory.

Rocket Adyson Bales scored in the 16th minute to provide the only goal of the game. Neither team scored over the final 64 minutes.

Bluffton fired eight of its 18 shots on goal. Anna put 11 of its 15 shots on target.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys golf team lost a tight Northwest Conference triangular match at Moose Landing Golf Club in Ottawa on Tuesday, September 9.

Allen East won the closely-contested match with 165 strokes, followed closely by Columbus Grove (167) and Bluffton (173).

The Pirates are 8-7 overall and 4-5 in NWC play after the match.

Mustang Brady Brooks earned match medalist status by shooting a round of 37. He was followed closely by teammate Levi Clum, who carded a 38 to finish second.
