MAY 1 MEDIA RELEASE – As temperatures rise and an increased number of motorcycles are traveling on our roadways, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding drivers and motorcyclists to share the road, be alert and driver sober.

The following public meetings have been added to the Village of Bluffton calendar.

Cultural Affairs Committee on Wednesday, May 7 at 9:00 a.m. at GROB

Safety Services Committee on Wednesday, May 7 at noon, Town Hall

Council Meeting on Monday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m., Town Hall

The weekend of May 3-4 will choc full of fun in Bluffton. You'll be sure to bump into someone you know at the kick off event for the Bluffton Farmers Market, Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-noon, or at the 81st annual Trout Derby hosted by the Bluffton Sportsmen's Club on Sunday, with fishing hours from 2:00-4:30 p.m. Or perhaps you'll be celebrating commencement with a Bluffton University graduate on Saturday or stopping by the BHS seniors art exhibit at Gallery 323 that same day from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Enjoy!

VAN WERT__The visiting Bluffton High School girls softball team lost 9-0 to Northwest Conference rival Lincolnview on Thursday evening, May 1.

The league-leading Lancer girls plated four runs in both the first and third innings to put the game out of reach early.

The Pirate girls dropped to 2-9 overall and 1-4 in the NWC with the loss. Lincolnview improved to 16-3 overall and 5-0 in the NWC after the shutout win. The Lancers are tied atop the NWC standings with Delphos Jefferson.

VAN WERT__The Lincolnview baseball team clinched at least a share of its fifth straight Northwest Conference championship with a 5-0 shutout of the Bluffton High School team on Thursday, May 1.

The Lancers scored four runs in the third inning to break up a scoreless tie.

The Pirates fell to 7-10 overall and 1-4 in NWC play after the loss. The Lancers improved to 12-3 and 5-0 in the NWC after the win.

Lincolnview out-hit the Pirates, 6-4.
