10 Pirate swimmers compete at Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN__Ten Bluffton High School swimmers competed well at the Bowling Green Div. II Northwest district meet on Friday evening, February 20. Eight Pirates competed in district individual events, while two others participated on three Bluffton relay teams at BG.

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys basketball team went ice cold in the fourth quarter and lost 49-36 to visiting former league foe Paulding in the regular season finale on Friday, February 20.

The Pirates led 34-33 heading into the decisive final period. But the Panthers outscored Bluffton 16-2 in the fourth to win by making eight baskets compared to just one hoop by the hosts.

The Pirates led 10-9 after the opening stanza as Parker Lovell nailed a triple and a deuce. Lane Ginther also buried a trifecta.

FEBRUARY 14

On Wednesday, February 25, at 7:00 p.m., Pastor Robert Krueger from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Findlay, will lead the special midweek Lent service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main St., Jenera.

His sermon, "Scattered Sheep," is based on Zechariah 13:7-9. Hymns are: "What Wondrous Love Is This, O Dearest Jesus and Now Rest Beneath Night's Shadow." Beginning at 5:30 PM, the Siefker family will serve a free spaghetti supper. 

The church holds Regular Sunday services are at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. with Bible Classes for all ages beginning at 9:20 a.m.
