What is the greatest example of friendship between two individuals you have ever known? My choice is two of my former students at Bluffton High School, Matt Schweingruber and Eric Smith.
Matt graduated in 1994. He next went to Taylor University (Indiana) and graduated with a degree in education. Today Matt and his wife, Shirley, live in Yonkers, New York. He teaches fourth grade at PS 128, the Audubon School, in New York City. Matt loves teaching.
Jerry Lynn Bassett, 59, passed away May 18, 2022, at his residence. Jerry was born October 27, 1962 in Lima to the late Robert and Ruth (Thomas) Bassett.
Jerry graduated from Bath High School and worked at Elevator Services in Beaverdam. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. Jerry was a jack-of-all trades especially when he was working with metal. He was known for his stubbornness, his willingness to help anyone and his "Jerry-isms." Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Bluffton Soccer Club shared the following announcement:
Ohio North is hosting a new referee course with a virtual training session from 7-10:00 p.m. on June 3. Participants need to attend this online session and are expected to be engaged and actively involved.
All other aspects of the training are self-paced. These portions must be completed by June 10.
All new referees must be 13 years old to make an account.
A suggestion is before Bluffton council to paint a thin blue line on Main Street, and/or blue American flags hung there in relation to Dominic Francis’ memory.

Many of us have important milestones in our lives including graduations and birthdays that we enjoy celebrating. Graduations this month are wonderful milestones for so many! Weddings are another important milestone and 2022 is marking the biggest year for weddings since 1984. I find this fact interesting because two of my personal milestones are my marriage in 1984 and my daughter’s upcoming marriage in 2022. I think we will be celebrating with so many others. The prediction is that over 2.5 million nuptials will take place in 2022, which is a big boom for the wedding industry! This explains my Pinterest notifications.
